Historique :	Initialement cette statue était conservée dans le couvent des clarisses de Beaumont-sur-Sarthe. Cette statue fut transférée en 1760 à la Visitation de la Ferté-Bernard, puis récupérée en morceaux en 1883 par le curée de Cherré. François Le Boeuf émet l'hypothèse d'une attribution possible de cette oeuvre à Noël Mérillon.
