Précision sur_l'état :	L'oeuvre a été vandalisée le 13/06/2021, La statue était à l’origine placée sur une console en pierre, fixée à la hauteur de 3 m environ. Le dimanche du 13 juin 2021 elle a été retrouvée couchée au sol, partiellement cassée. Les têtes de la Vierge et de l’Enfant étaient sectionnées et détachées des corps. La couronne de la Vierge et le corps de l’Enfant ont été brisés en plusieurs morceaux. La tête de l’Enfant est restée entière et placée à une certaine distance, dans les bancs. Dépôt de plainte le 16/06/2021 par le maire auprès de la compagnie de gendarmerie départementale du Mans COB de la Suze-sur-Sarthe (PV n°14687/01259/2021). La municipalité de Spay souhaite restaurer rapidement la statue de la Vierge vandalisée.
Précision_sur la representation :	La Vierge est représentée debout. Elle porte l’Enfant sur son bras gauche, dans la main droite elle tient un sceptre (cassé). La Vierge est vêtue d’une longue robe et d’un grand manteau aux plis en cascade côté senestre. Elle est coiffée d’une couronne ornée de cabochons et porte des chaussures aux bouts pointus. L’Enfant est vêtu d’un petit drapé qui couvre le bas de son corps. Il tient dans la main gauche un globe terrestre et pose sa main droite sur le décolleté de sa mère.
