Historique :	Selon la tradition, cette statue serait celle qui se trouvait dans la chapelle du même nom au château de Carmes. Elle aurait été vénérée par saint Louis quand il vint à La Flèche en mai 1230. Jetée dans le Loir à la Révolution, elle aurait été retrouvée plus tard. Cependant l'Inventaire général date cette statue du 14e siècle.
